LAP-BAND® surgery doesn’t have to be out of reach financially for board certified general surgeon Dr. Matthew St. Laurent’s Houston-area patients. A number of affordable payment options are available, and insurance may offset the cost of this procedure as well.
Weight loss can change your life and significantly improve your health. Many don’t realize that the cost of LAP-BAND® surgery is relatively small compared to obesity-related costs. Dramatic weight loss can greatly reduce weight-related costs, saving you thousands of dollars per year on average! Therein LAP-BAND® surgery becomes a tremendous investment in yourself and your future.
How Much Does LAP-BAND® Surgery Cost?
The cost may be very different from one patient to the next, depending on a number of factors. The biggest one is the length of hospital stay required afterward, since some people will recover faster than others.
Out-of-pocket costs will also vary a great deal depending on your exact insurance benefits. Our staff will carefully review your policy with you during your consultation to see what, if any, benefits you might be entitled to. Once this is established, we will discuss the many payment options we have available to help you manage the remaining balance. If your insurance doesn’t cover your LAP-BAND® surgery, payment can be done on a self-pay basis via cash, check or credit card, with financing available through CareCredit® and American Healthcare Lending®.
Other Considerations
Keep in mind that should you choose to have your LAP-BAND® removed later, this would require an additional surgery. The price you are quoted includes only the initial placement. Insurance may or may not cover the cost of removal.
Since LAP-BAND® surgery helps you lose weight; you may notice a significant improvement in your health. Improved health can lower your medical expenses tremendously, thereby offsetting the cost of your surgery.
