Our Comprehensive Weight Loss Counseling Services
Exercise Counseling
Physical activity is an important part of maintaining results following bariatric surgery. At Northwest Endosurgical, we offer exercise counseling to help ease patients' fears and gradually guide them toward a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Matthew St. Laurent or a member of our professional staff will provide recommendations about how you can begin incorporating exercise into your daily life. We encourage patients to become more active in many different ways, such as taking walks, and those who seek a more extensive exercise program may be referred to a personal trainer. We are glad to work closely with personal trainers to help create exercise plans that are fully customized.
Nutritional Counseling
Poor nutrition is one of the leading causes of obesity. Patients who consume foods that are high in fat and sugar can experience excessive weight gain and obesity-related complications. Dr. St. Laurent recognizes that nutritional changes are imperative to maintaining the long-term benefits of a weight loss procedure, which is why we provide nutritional counseling both before and after bariatric surgery. This counseling is intended to help patients begin establishing healthy eating habits on a regular basis. By following the advice of our dietitians as closely as possible, patients can reach and stay at a healthy weight and avoid any complications following surgery.
Nutritional Supplements
Due to the nature of bariatric surgery, some patients develop nutritional deficiencies following their procedure. In these cases, supplements can be used as an effective way to ensure that patients receive the nutrients they need. We offer high-quality nutritional supplements, and our dietician can help determine which supplements you require. If you choose to enroll in a nutritional program at our practice, the fee will cover lifelong access to our dietician, a four-month supply of supplements, and detailed pre- and post-operative nutritional counseling.
